DGSA - Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser

ADRDGSA - logoRegulations specify that any organisation involved in the carriage, or related packing, loading, filling, or unloading of dangerous goods has a legal obligation to appoint a Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA).

Zoona Limited will ensure that your organisation – as a packer, loader, filler or carrier of dangerous goods, is fully compliant with all regulations.

There are many myths surrounding the carriage of dangerous goods. one of them being that dangerous goods packed in limited quantities (LQ) are exempt from ADR, therefore anybody can carry them. Sadly, that is not the case. LQ’s have many exemptions from the full requirements of ADR but the safety obligations, as specified in ADR, still need to be fulfilled and the drivers and handlers must have received general awareness, function specific, and safety training.

There are also further exemptions relating to small quantities, but again, drivers still need to be trained and safety obligations still need to be met. Is your vehicle fitted with the correct equipment to carry small loads?

You will need to appoint a DGSA if your activities include the transport or the related loading or unloading of significant quantities of dangerous goods by road, rail or inland waterway.

The regulations require that any undertaking involved in the carriage or the related packing, loading, filling or unloading, of dangerous goods must appoint a DGSA to help prevent the risks inherent in the transport of those goods.

Zoona Limited can act as your appointed DGSA, train your drivers and operatives, and offer advice and guidance whenever you need it and we have many cost-effective services to accommodate all business types.

Our bespoke training is competitively priced, delivered at your premises whatever time of day or night, and only takes four hours to deliver our intensive course.
